Sunday Baking (Soup) Sunday # 4

Sunday Baking Sunday

This Sunday I made:

Pumpkin Soup

I know its not technically baking but relax, I make up the rules to this.

As we head into winter (it's currently 28°C) my sister Jade (check out her tumblr its awesome and everything you want in a tumblr) and I decided to make some pumpkin soup.

We merged all out ingredients, my pumpkin with her rest-of-the-ingredients.

We started by roasting some garlic.

Splashed some olive oil onto it, sprinkle of pepper and…

Bobs your uncle. A little silver garlic head. Throw him in the oven.

Start chopping. Have a million 'discussions' about the correct size of the chopped vegetables.

Keep chopping and 'discussing'

Throw a couple cloves of garlic and a huge onion in a big pot with some oil

Sprinkle in your spices, we had cumin, coriander and nutmeg

Two green chillies

Throw in your vegetables. We had broccoli, potato, sweet potato, carrot and cauliflower.

Then 'discuss' who cuts up the pumpkin because it's a pain in the beep.

I had to. Fairs fair.

Throw in artistically.

Now get your roasted garlic out of the oven. He will be crazy hot. Flatten with the side of a knife and all the cloves will slide right out. Put into pot too.

Naz helping.

Put enough water in to nearly cover everything. Or stock, up to you. Let it simmer and cook away for about 15-20 minutes.

Jade gave it a mash up

As Jamie Oliver would say wazz it up with your stick mixer.

Then serve it up for lunch with garlic bread. We drizzled olive oil on, cracked some pepper and put a blob of Greek yoghurt on. Delicious. Food for ages packed away in our freezers.
